Yogi Q&A: Laura

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am Content Manager by day, Yoga Teacher by night. I love yoga and meditation, and I just adore spreading this love however I can. I have been practicing for almost 6 years and I think Yoga is a path, a personal journey that can help us to find our inner self.

What is your favourite yoga pose and why?

My favourite yoga pose is Bakasana, because I love arm balances. I like to challenge myself using both balance and strength.

What are your best tips for creating a regular yoga practice from home?

Here there are some suggestions: first of all, always start with the warm up, it's fundamental to avoid getting hurt. Then, try to build a practice with a specific purpose, i.e. opening the shoulders, and then think about all the poses that can help you get there. Also, try to variate and to learn something new. It's normal to get caught in what we are already good at, but always remember to create length in your whole body and to strengthen every muscle starting from the core.

What benefits do you experience from doing yoga and why do you think people should start?

I've always had back pain, due to my scoliosis and other problems my back has. Thanks to yoga, I have no pain at all, I finally have a better posture and I also gained in peace of mind. In fact, yoga practices help me to deal with everyday life with a smile on my face.

What made you fall in love with yoga?

I love yoga because it creates harmony in both your mind and your spirit and at the same time your body works better than ever.
